LaGrangeville, NY – June 4, 2018 – The Salvatore & Patricia Trocino Foundation awarded its second annual scholarship in the Hudson Valley. On June 4th, representatives from the Foundation along with members of the Arlington High School administration gathered to present the scholarship. The one-thousand-dollar scholarship was awarded to Mr. Gerard Dempsey of Hopewell Junction, NY. Presenting the scholarship on behalf of the Foundation were Domenic, Mark, Christopher and Anthony Trocino, the four sons of Salvatore and Patricia Trocino for whom the Foundation was created.

A graduating senior at Arlington High School, Gerard is ranked forty-first in his class of 810 students. He has a GPA of 4.0 and has been a member of the school’s Honor Roll and Principal’s List for all four years of high school. Gerard is also a member of the National Honor Society and has been the recipient of the ‘Outstanding Admiral Award’ for demonstrating excellence in commitment to academics and school community at Arlington. Throughout his high school years, Gerard has volunteered for the LaGrange Historical Society, Dutchess Outreach, and The Special Olympics. In the Fall, Gerard will attend SUNY Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY where he will study Mechanical Engineering.

“On behalf of the Trocino family and the Foundation, it gives me great pleasure to present Gerard with our second annual scholarship. Gerard is a very bright and personable young man. Not only does he shine as an academic but he also gives back to his community through service and volunteerism which are values that both my parents instilled in my brothers and I. We could not have picked a more deserving scholarship winner,” said Mark Trocino, Founder and President of the Salvatore & Patricia Trocino Foundation.

This is the second annual Salvatore & Patricia Trocino Foundation Scholarship to be awarded.
